Budget Party Tips
The #1 rule for throwing a party that won’t
break the bank is to create a budget and stick
to it. If possible, have a combo party—combine
two events into one or share the celebration with
someone else and split the cost. Plan your party
as far ahead as possible to avoid costly last-minute
purchases. Time your party for early afternoon,
when it’s more appropriate to serve sandwiches,
hearty salads, and other less expensive foods.
If you’re inviting a large crowd, buffets
are usually the most efficient and least expensive
way to serve a meal. Once you’ve finalized
your menu, you can look for sales and stock up
on any additional items you might need–
such as soft drinks, bottled water, condiments,
